Living space
The aim of the project was to renovate an apartment for a couple visited by their children and grandchildren.
The most representative part of the home, the living room with an open kitchen and dining area, was designed in bright and warm colors. To create the most open and well-lit space possible, several existing walls were removed. This resulted in a harmonious, visually connected area conducive to relaxation.
The living area features warm and muted colors, complemented by black accents in the form of accessories and lighting. The interior exudes elegance, incorporating natural materials such as wood and stone. The boucle fabric of the sofas and their rounded shapes add a cozy touch to the space.
The Heart of the Home
The centerpiece of the living area is the fireplace, which we decided to preserve. It is strategically located between the kitchen, living room, and hallway. Once finished in dark gray tones, it now boasts an elegant new look with sleek white tiles.
One of the elements we had to retain was the wall adjacent to the fireplace, featuring built-in shelves. To enhance its design, we introduced a lowered ceiling section, creating a portal between the living area and the kitchen. This architectural feature adds character to the space, serving as a symbolic division of functions within the open-plan interior.
Hallway
When designing an entryway in an apartment or a vestibule in a house, it’s essential to consider the many functions this space serves.
This area should provide sufficient room for various activities such as welcoming guests, storing outerwear, and saying goodbye. As the first space encountered when entering from the outside, it should invite you in and reflect the style and character of the rest of the home.
In the interior design project for the Kudowa apartment, the entryway features a multifunctional built-in furniture system. This design is visually divided into two sections: open and closed.
The open section includes a padded bench with hooks above it and a mirror. There is also a recessed niche with shelves and a drawer for small items, along with a shoe shelf beneath the bench. The closed section is designed for storing outerwear and footwear, with hangers, drawers, and shelves discreetly tucked away.
